# Web design in Kent.

Studio 48 is a web design studio in Ashford, Kent. We design and build custom sites for businesses across the county — every one designed and coded for the business rather than assembled from a theme, and set up to be found locally as well as to look right.

Most Kent businesses we speak to are not competing nationally. They are competing inside about a fifteen-mile radius, against between three and twenty other businesses that do the same thing, for customers who will decide from a phone screen in under a minute. That is a much more winnable problem than it feels, and it is won on details that have nothing to do with how the homepage looks.

The local pack — the three businesses on the little map above the normal results — takes most of the clicks for anything with local intent. Which three appear is decided mostly by the Google Business Profile and by whether your website's details corroborate it, and only then by the site itself. So we do those together: one trading name, one service-area definition, one set of hours and one phone number, written identically on the profile, on the site and in the structured data. It is the least interesting work in this business and the highest-return.

Then the site has to earn the click it gets. Fast on a mid-range phone on 4G, obvious about what you do and where you do it, and one tap from getting in touch. Everything else — the art direction, the motion, the typography we care rather a lot about — sits on top of that, not instead of it.

We publish our prices and we publish our evidence. A build is £595 to £995 depending on size, £1,750 and up with a CMS or e-commerce, then £50 a month on Care keeps it hosted, updated and amended. The search figures on this site come from a Google Search Console export with the date on it, and the products they refer to are live and linked, so you can go and check every one.

Prices are published rather than quoted on request, and are exclusive of VAT. A one-off build (Starter, Standard or Complete), then the Care plan at £50 a month after the site is signed off and live. - **Complete — from £1,750** (scoped together). Everything in Standard, plus a CMS so you can run it yourself. Includes: Everything in Standard; CMS — edit pages and copy yourself; Blog or news section; Integrations: booking, payments, e-commerce; Priority support.
- **Care plan — £50 per month.** The standard plan after launch — hosting, domain and reasonable amends, so there's nothing else to buy or think about.
