# Web design in Canterbury.

Canterbury is fourteen miles up the road from our studio in Ashford, which makes it a comfortable morning for a kickoff meeting and easy to stay close to afterwards. We build sites for independents, practices and small institutions across CT1 to CT4.

Canterbury has two audiences that most Kent towns do not, and they behave nothing like each other. There are the visitors — a cathedral city and a World Heritage site pulls people who are researching on a phone, in a hurry, with no local knowledge, deciding between you and whatever else is within a ten-minute walk. And there are the students, tens of thousands of them across the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church, arriving every September knowing nothing and choosing everything from scratch.

Both of those are search problems before they are design problems. The visitor wants opening hours, a location and a booking button before anything else, and will leave if the page is slow on 4G near the cathedral. The student is searching in September for the same twenty things every year. A site that answers the obvious questions immediately and legibly will beat a prettier one that buries them, which is why we build small, fast and direct rather than large and impressive.

The independent retail and hospitality on the high street and around the lanes is the other half of it. Those businesses are competing with chains that have real marketing budgets, and the one advantage they have is being specific and being genuinely local — so the site should sound like the business rather than like a template, and should be findable on the terms people actually type.

Nearby: Sturry, Chartham, Bridge, Littlebourne, Blean, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Wingham.

Typical local work: Independent retail and hospitality; Tourism, attractions and accommodation; Education and student services; Clinics and private practice; Arts and events.

Fourteen miles from the studio, so an in-person kickoff in Canterbury is straightforward and we are happy to come back mid-project if it helps.

## Do you build websites for Canterbury businesses that need online booking?

Yes. Booking, payments and e-commerce integrations sit in the £1,750 Complete tier, which is the usual choice for Canterbury restaurants, clinics, tours and accommodation where the site has to take a reservation rather than just make the phone ring. Simpler sites that point at an enquiry form start at £595.

Prices are published rather than quoted on request, and are exclusive of VAT. A one-off build (Starter, Standard or Complete), then the Care plan at £50 a month after the site is signed off and live. Care is the standard ongoing relationship, covering hosting, domain and reasonable amends — not an optional add-on.

- **Starter — £595** (one-off build). A single-page or small brochure site. Live in about a fortnight. Includes: Up to 3 pages; Custom-styled design; Mobile-first build; Contact form & Google Business setup; Performance & SEO baseline.
- **Standard — £995** (one-off build). The usual choice — a full site, properly set up to be found. Includes: Up to 8 pages; Full SEO setup & Search Console; Enquiry forms & analytics; Local listings & schema markup; One round of revisions.
- **Complete — from £1,750** (scoped together). Everything in Standard, plus a CMS so you can run it yourself. Includes: Everything in Standard; CMS — edit pages and copy yourself; Blog or news section; Integrations: booking, payments, e-commerce; Priority support.
- **Care plan — £50 per month.** The standard plan after launch — hosting, domain and reasonable amends, so there's nothing else to buy or think about. Includes: Hosting & domain included; SSL, backups and updates; Reasonable content amends each month; Uptime monitoring; Direct support, no ticket queue.
