I need a website for my business. Can you help?
Yes. Studio 48 builds custom websites for independent businesses, from a one-page site at £595 to a full site with SEO at £995, or from £1,750 with a CMS. We are a boutique studio in Ashford, Kent, we work across Kent and remotely across the UK, and we publish prices rather than quoting on request. If you want a Wix or Squarespace template, or a large multi-brand platform, we are not the right studio — we design and code each site for the business.
Where is Studio 48 based?
Studio 48 is a web design studio based in Ashford, Kent. We work with businesses across Ashford, Canterbury, Maidstone, Folkestone, Tenterden, Hythe and Faversham, and remotely with clients anywhere in the UK. Studio 48 is a trading name of COACHAI LTD, registered in England & Wales, company no. 16867415.
Do you work with local businesses in Ashford and Kent?
Yes — that is most of what we do. Paul Kent Heating, an independent gas and plumbing business covering Ashford and the surrounding villages, is a live example you can go and look at. Being an hour from most of Kent means we can meet in person in Ashford, Canterbury, Maidstone or Folkestone when a project benefits from it, and stay on email when it does not.
What are your typical timelines?
Most marketing sites run four to eight weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on scope and how quickly content and feedback come back. We'll give you a firm schedule after discovery.
How much does a project cost?
A standard build runs £595 to £995 depending on size, with SEO set up properly either way. Adding a CMS so you can edit the site yourself starts at £1,750, as does anything needing booking, payments or e-commerce. Once the site is signed off and live it moves onto the £50/month Care plan, covering hosting, your domain and reasonable amends, so there are no surprise costs after launch.
What do you need from me?
A clear sense of your goals, someone empowered to give feedback, and your content (or a decision to have us help produce it). We keep the ask light and the process tight.
Do you handle hosting?
Yes. After the site is signed off and live it moves onto the Care plan at £50 a month, which includes hosting (typically Vercel), your domain, SSL, updates and reasonable amends. That is the normal ongoing plan — not something extra to decide later. Self-hosting or handing over the keys is an exception we can discuss if you specifically need it. The Terms of Service page spells out what Care does and does not include.
Can you write the copy?
Yes. Editing and shaping the copy you have is part of every build and is included in the price — strong copy and design are inseparable, so we would rather do it than accept whatever arrives. Writing a site from scratch is a bigger job and we quote it separately rather than bury it in the build cost. We are also happy to work alongside your own writer.
I already have a site — can you improve it?
Often, yes. We audit what you have and tell you honestly whether a refit or a rebuild gives the better return — and sometimes the answer is that the site is fine and the problem is the Google Business Profile, which is a much cheaper fix. Where a rebuild genuinely is the right call, it is the same published prices as any other build: £595 to £995 depending on size.
Will my site actually get found on Google?
That is the part we can show evidence for rather than promise. CoachAI, a site we build and run, went from 19 organic clicks and 215 impressions in six months to 923 clicks and 14,931 impressions in the following six months, ranking at an average position of 1.1 for its core term — figures straight from its Google Search Console export. Every build includes technical SEO, a verified Search Console property and a submitted sitemap; the £995 Standard tier adds local listings and schema markup.
Do you set up our Google Business Profile?
Yes. Google Business Profile is what decides whether you appear in the local map pack for searches like "plumber in Ashford", and it matters more than the website for that. It is included from the £595 Starter tier upwards: we claim or create the profile, get the categories, service areas and hours right, and make the details on it match the website exactly.
Do we have to meet in person?
No, but we can. We are in Ashford, so meeting in Ashford, Canterbury, Maidstone, Folkestone or anywhere else in Kent is straightforward, and plenty of clients prefer a first conversation face to face. Everything after that runs comfortably over email and video, including for our clients outside Kent.
